Wanlockhead is situated some 1500 feet up in the Southern Uplands in Dumfries and Galloway. Located 15 miles from Dumfries and only 1 hour's drive from the Scottish/English border, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Ayr (Prestwick Airport & Troon Ferry Terminal), this is the perfect retreat and quick get-away for all ages and life-styles.

This newly renovated 250 year old miner's cottage, comprises 1 Double Bedroom, 1 Twin Bedroom, Bathroom and large open-plan Lounge/Dining Room/Kitchen with logburner, open fire, a traditional Raeburn and many other quaint features one should expect from a traditional Scottish cottage in the hills! There is also a pull down futon for additional guests in the lounge. Mill Cottage can comfortably accommodate 4-6 guests.

Due to it's traditional features and Scottish character, Mill Cottage was chosen last summer to film inside scenes for the new BBC drama 'HOPE SPRINGS', which is to be broadcast in Spring 2009. Featuring top actresses, Annette Crosby and Alex Kingston, Hope Springs is an 8-part peak time drama from Shed Productions. Look out for Mill Cottage on the T.V. this spring!!!
